Q & A

Q: What is balayage?

A: It is a technique for painting lightener on the hair (focusing mostly on the mid+ends instead of the root) to produce a soft blended result. It is ideal for adding natural looking dimension and highlights to hair.

Q: How long should I go between cuts?

A: This is going to differ for everyone! The sweet spot for most is around 5-8 weeks. If you're growing your hair out, I recommend trims every 10-12 weeks. It is important to take off the dead ends or they have the potential to keep splitting or "beading" higher and higher if neglected.

Q: How often should I color?

A: If we are trying to hide those grays or our natural root color, we will likely be hanging out about every 4 or 5 weeks! For highlight clients I suggest 6-8 weeks. Balayage and dimensional color are lower maintenance and can typically be spaced out as far as 16 weeks! I do however encourage gloss or tone refreshers every 8 weeks for most balayages.

Q: How long will my appointment take?

A: You should expect your hair cut to take right around an hour with wash/cut/style. Color services will take a minimum of 90 minutes and can take up to a few hours depending on the service you are receiving.

Q: Can I bring my kids with me?

A: For the safety and health of everyone, please do not bring your children to the salon unless they have an appointment. If you run into issues or an emergency situation, please just contact me!

Q: My hair is damaged...can you help?

A: The health and integrity of your hair is a priority to me. I take pride in using the highest quality color and products comprised of natural ingredients. By using professional treatments such as b3, getting you on a regular trim schedule, and providing you with knowledge on proper home care and routine, I can help you improve the health of your hair.

Q: I'm interested in extensions...would I be a good candidate?

A: Want more volume? Dying to get that long mermaid hair? With hand tied extensions, the possibilities are endless and without damage to your hair. If you would like to learn more about the extensions I offer, please email me and request an extension application form!
